In-Class Work 4: Job Functions
We do this live in class. Small breakout rooms, about 25 minutes. I’ll tell you the exact time in class.
In your room:
- From the reading and today’s slides, list the job functions you can name between you. Don’t look them up first
- Then pick one technology your group agrees on. A wind turbine, an insulin pump, a bridge, a game engine, whatever
- For that technology, name a specific task that each of four different job functions would own
- Each person says which function appeals to them most and which they’d hate. Then the group names one attribute each of those jobs demands
- Each person names one thing the job they want demands that they don’t have yet, and one step they could take toward it
Each of you submits the group’s answer. Type it into the Moodle submission box:
- First line: everyone’s full names
- Second line: the technology the group picked
- The group’s four job functions, one line each: the function, then the task it owns
- For each person, starting with their name: the function they’d want, the one they’d avoid, and the one step
Grading. Everyone in the group gets the same score. If you do not submit, you get no credit for that session. Grading and the AI policy are in the syllabus.
